Shopping Tips For Men
Lingerie as a gift reminds me of the old adage, “the gift that keeps on giving.”
Of course this is only the case if the piece of lingerie you choose suits her style and actually makes her feel more sexier…which brings us to most guys dilemma: how to find the right piece?
While some men shy away from lingerie shopping for their significant other for fear of getting it “wrong,” one of the most important things to remember is its YOU she is trying to look sexy for. When a woman goes lingerie shopping for herself one of the first and foremost questions in her mind is “will he like it” so men actually have a built in advantage when shopping for lingerie for a partner.
That said, we understand the requests for a few pointers and are glad to share! When shopping for a sexy piece of lingerie as a gift sometimes choosing a color can be the easiest place to start. You don’t have to tie yourself to only shopping one color (unless you’re sure she only likes a certain color of lingerie) but its good to know what if any colors you should rule out. If you have never seen her wear babydoll pink color before or a wildly bold red then play it safe and don’t venture that she will want to start now. Black is typically the safest, most universally flattering choice and of course white is a pretty close second as a relatively safe neutral when shopping for a gift. Simply think about the color palette you see her wearing day to day. Stick to that and you are bound to make a good choice!
The second step is sizing. Take a quick look at a couple of the lingerie items that you like on our site and the sizing charts on their product pages. That will give you a clue as to what to look for when you glance at the clothing sizes in her closet. Most manufacturers have an equivalent dress size in their charts so if you can glance at something she already owns, even if its not lingerie, then you should have a good basis for getting her the right size. If its a bra or corset you are buying however you will likely need to get a peak at her bra size as well. It might be tricky to do for most people but we figure if you are shopping for lingerie for her you probably already have bra access;)
Lastly, there is the question of style. If she is pretty demure chances are you can skip over the black vinyl corsets and choose something more traditional like a sheer babydoll. Babydolls tend to be the most universally flattering style for any body type actually but if part of the look your going for is thigh high stockings or you think that a long lace gown is more her look trust your instincts.
Last but not least, its also a great idea to finish off the look with a fabulous pair of heels. After all , what woman won’t appreciate a new pair of sexy shoes? Not to mention its an easy place to get her sizing just right and make any lingerie look just that much sexier!
