That is the best feature of this item of clothing: it is ultra feminine. Flattering and becoming, it hits at just the right spot to make me look ravishing and irresistible.
There is just a little pop of color right on the cups that really draws the eye right to the bosom, which you know is exactly where I want someone’s eyes drawn. The pleats begin at the bodice and are very subtle. So the skirt hangs very easily and naturally. It comes with a matching thong panty. When I wear this I feel comfortable, sexy, and alluring. Sometimes I lounge around it in because it is so comfortable, but I also whip it out when I want to impress.

I can’t help it. I just love the 50s. Maybe it’s because I’m not old enough to have been alive then, so I feel like I missed out. But it just seems like such a fun time period. I love the so-50s color of the bright pink—not the neon of the 80s, but the absolutely pink of the 50s—trimmed in the stark black. Even more I love the details. The lace-trimmed apron with the cherries embroidered on it that matches the cut diner hat is just too much! The black trim on the skirt is just enough, but not too much to make you just feel silly in it. Then the polka dot necktie that screams 1950s finishes off the look. Everything about this costume shouts authentic, but it’s got a sex appeal that the diner outfit definitely didn’t sport! It’s like a marriage of what I love about the 1950s with what I love about feeling sexy in the new millennium.
I also love the idea of turning heads while still having a demure quality about my costume. It’s the kind of thing you know you look good in, but there is still something left to the imagination. Wasn’t it Coco Chanel who said that a little mystery drives men wild? I’m thinking that I can put on a little pair of lacy white socks and Mary Janes—stilettos or pumps or maybe even flats???—and make my man wish we never left the house again.

Halloween is right around the corner, so of course, I am thinking about what I want to be this year. I love this time of year with its crisp air and the feeling of anticipation everywhere. So, I always want to outdo myself each Halloween. The colors are bright and crisp—kind of autumn itself—and the paisley design is flattering as well. I love the long, flowing sleeves. Really, what I love the most is that fact that you’re actually covered up—no low cut peek-a-boo—but it’s still very sexy. Sure, it’s very short. But if it’s cool that night, I can always put on a pair of thick pantyhose or tights and go right on out rocking my Go-Go boots. The headband matches and creates a nice way to wear low fuss hair and still look super all night long.
Plus, I think I could probably get away with wearing my Sexy Hippy Chick costume as a shirt over tights later in the year. So, the costume could actually serve double duty for me.
I always like to kind of surprise at Halloween and that’s another reason I love this costume. It’s not the typical thing you would expect to see. It’s not a tired costume we’ve all seen over and over again. And as a bonus, I won’t feel silly or uncomfortable all night. The style of this costume means no pinching and no feeling like I can’t breathe all night.
Now that I’ve definitely decided on my costume for this year, this Sexy Hippy Chick is going to go stock up on Halloween candy for the kiddos. It is as if there is some sort of structure in our brains that equates voicing the dissatisfaction with somehow changing the actual appearance of our thighs, our stomach or our rear end.
Obviously that is not the case, but few things tempt us to walk down the path of self criticism in regards to our shape more so than a full length mirror while trying on a swimsuit or piece of lingerie (unless you also add fluorescent lighting to the mix. Just one more reason I like ordering online!)
Its not that I am saying that I have completely overcome having a critical eye on my own figure. I have definitely had that..and at times still do. And the partial “cure” I am about to announce is not exactly new either. That said, practicing it can breath new life into my own body image and I don’t mind reminding myself of the power of doing that. After all, sometimes the biggest difference between being perceived as sexy or not is the way I carry myself and how sexy I feel in my own skin. If something I wear can help bolster a more positive self image then why not?
And that is where lingerie comes in. It is definitely not the enemy. As a matter of fact few things can make me feel more attractive than the right piece of sexy lingerie. The caveat there is that it is “the right” piece. If I could pick apart my “flaws” why not also be able to take note of my assets? And that is the secret. Take a few moments and take stock of your assets. Ask yourself for a moment what YOU think your top three most attractive features are. Do you have blue eyes that light up whenever you wear the right shade of blue (think light colors of lingerie like blue or white with blue accents), do you have some major curves and look especially hot in anything that accents your waist (think corset) or maybe your shoulders are especially sexy (think halter cut lingerie for showing them off!)
I have relatively long legs and a rather impressive amount of cleavage. If you put me in most teddies I feel all hips and thighs and not in a good way but place me in the right push up babydoll with sheer fabric that is cut open in the front and skims lightly over my hip area plus a pair of hot heels and look out world…or should I say–look out, cute husband sitting in my bedroom waiting for me to make an entrance!

You don’t have to tie yourself to only shopping one color (unless you’re sure she only likes a certain color of lingerie) but its good to know what if any colors you should rule out. If you have never seen her wear babydoll pink color before or a wildly bold red then play it safe and don’t venture that she will want to start now. Black is typically the safest, most universally flattering choice and of course white is a pretty close second as a relatively safe neutral when shopping for a gift.
